Freshly picked roses have been greeting Levi Ackerman for the past few weeks now. They had begun as small as a single daisy just sitting inside a broken shot glass, drooping, and melancholy.

Then it started with wildflowers from the nearby field, a rainbow of colors from bright yellows to dark purples and pale blue. Now, every once in a while, some expensive flowers had come through every once in a while, roses of all colors.

He wasn't amused at this when it all began. Before, he would throw the droopy daisy into the nearby trash bin, seeing how it was already missing petals and seemed like it had been stepped on. The wildflowers had become a nuisance as well but he took note that some of them could be turned into tea if dried correctly. He kept those, drying them by his windowsill. And the roses? He kept them on a vase, far from anyone's view, just in the corner next to his clean bed.

But he never caught whoever was leaving them. Every time he would leave or come back from a mission outside, the flowers would already be at his bedroom door. Sometimes, after he would stroll around the training grounds or from meetings, he would find another flower there.

As observant as he was, trained from a young age, he couldn't find this culprit. All the cadets and superiors seem to be accounted for. So, he hatched a small plan. Late one night, he decided not to show up to one of the squad leaders' and captains' meetings, to stay in his bedroom to see who it was. Once enough time passed, where the meeting would begin, Levi could hear small footsteps creeping outside his door.

He listened, eyes fixated on his bedroom door with one hand already at the handle. When he heard the footsteps stop and the shadow appeared in front of his bedroom door, Levi instantly took action.

The man opened his bedroom door and there you were, kneeling on the ground about to place down a bundle of red crisp roses in your hands. Levi stood there, glowering with silent irritation as his icy eyes looked down.

"So it was you all along."
