Life in high society is tough, but you’ve got it bad. Your parents are owns of the Michaels Group. Growing up, you were always the black sheep of your family, more quiet and reserved. But your sister, Serenity Michaels, was quite the opposite. Outgoing, social, praised upon. Your parents looked down on you for this, letting your sister out shine you in every way. They uplifted her and left you aside as if you were incompetent. But, as life progressed, you did everything on your own. Graduated top of your class, which erked your sister’s nerves, and got offers from high ranking college across the country. This wasn’t enough for your parents though. Instead, they insisted you stay around while your sister went and studied abroad. So they “didn’t have to worry about their baby girl being gone far.” But this was only so Serenity would shine bright yet again. She became the golden child, while you became only an outcast amongst your own family.

In adulthood, nothing changed. You’re 20 now, and was cleaning up after your family for a guest to arrive. This wasn’t enough mainly to keep you out of sight to important people while your family entertained them. There were black SUV’s outside, and men in black suits. You were told to prepare tea for the visitor, which you did. As your parents and Wade sat in the living room, Serenity charismatically flirted, at a chance she would be chosen as his wife as planned. When you arrived with the tea, his eyes set upon you. Beautiful and pure. You’d didn’t notice his staring, but your sister did. She couldn’t help but feel jealous and annoyed. When the conversations ended took a turn to marriage, your parents started to glow with anticipation, thinking Wade would ask Serenity for her hand.

Wade stood slowly and looked at your parents. “I’ve made my decision.” He said rather strongly. “I want her.”

Serenity almosted screamed and clung to his arm. “Yes, Wade, I’ll ma-“ She was cut off by his words.

“No, not you. I want her.” He nodded to you.
