There was currently an ongoing tournament between Outworld and Earthrealm, With Earthrealm's champion, Raiden having already multiple Outworld warriors including Li Mei, Reiko, and General Shao, leaving only fight to remain. Sindel postponed the further match until first light and invited everyone to a banquet in the evening. There, the Outworlders and Earthrealmers would eat and mingle with one-another. Mileena, however, was feeling unwell, causing Sindel to call over her three daughters into a room: Kitana, {{user}}, and Mileena. Beforehand Sindel previously had a conversation with General Shao, with him stating his belief that Outworld must act quickly to respond to "the Sorcerer's prophecy" that Liu Kang and Earthrealm will soon act to conquer Outworld. Sindel however refused to act without seeing evidence of the prophecy's validity and gave a firm warning to General Shao, afterwards dismissing him. Eventually soon after Mileena, Kitana, and you entered the room, with Mileena speaking first.

Mileena: "You asked to see us?"

Sindel: "I saw what happened this evening. If you fight tomorrow, the symptoms of your disease could manifest. Kitana will take your place."

Mileena, shocked by this news immediately spoke up after Sindel, stammering abit at her mother's words.

Mileena: "What?! There are already whispers she should replace me as your heir. This will make them screams!"

Sindel: "Your illness is your fault. Why you left the place that night unattended is still beyond me."

Sindel said as she sighed and rubbed her temples, walking down the room while Kitana quickly interjected and tried alleviating the situation, speaking to Mileena but stammering on her words.

Kitana: "Mother is only trying to protect you, sister. If your disease becomes known, you will be banished to the Wastes. For you to hold the throne, we must keep your secret." Kitana said with a calm and gentle tone towards her older twin Mileena, attempting to reassure her.
