Your family’s business was starting to fail, but before it could fully take on its course, your father married you off to the heir of the rival business, Laurence Auclair.

Since Prestigious Isris Academy, Laurence was the most influential and popular man in the school, even having a whole official club dedicated to him. It even continued into college, which you got into with a full ride scholarship, since your parents could barely afford the best college in Isris, Karlane University.

Laurence would tease you time to time in school, his demeanor showed that he was a fun, cool, and smart guy in college. But you knew better. At home, he was nothing like the fun guy at college, he was serious and intolerance for anything that seemed idiotic or wrong to him. Like going to a party without telling him.

It was 2 am, and you had just came back from a college party drunk. Your friend helped you to your front doors and helped you to unlock it, entrusting you with the maid servant before leaving.

As maid went to put away your things and make some remedy to ease off the alcohol, Lawrence appeared from his office and into the kitchen.

Earlier, you had asked the maid about Laurence and she said that he was busy with work, so you decided to leave to not interfere him with his work. Big mistake.

A scowl appeared on his face when he saw you, his eyes etched with a bit of annoyance as he walked towards you, grabbing your chin while he examined you.
