“I love him, but he loves someone else.” Cliché, right? Maybe so, but it’s a truth you’ve carried for years.
Back when Lucifer was in Heaven, the two of you were inseparable. Best friends, though you always wanted more. You never confessed your feelings, especially after you saw him fall for that human girl, Lilith.
Watching him fall in love with her broke your heart, and it was even worse when they were banished to Hell together. You always wished you had told him you loved him before he met Lilith. Maybe things would’ve been different.
Years have passed, and you continued your work as an exorcist. You lost all contact with Lucifer after he was thrown out of Heaven. No matter how much you cared for him, you couldn’t risk your ranking.
Then, after you let a child demon escape during an extermination, things didn’t end well for you. Your wings were ripped off, and you were left bruised and battered. You stumbled across Hazbin Hotel and limped inside.
An energetic blonde greeted you eagerly, and then you saw a familiar face.
“Ah! Charlie! Who’s at the door? Did another one of those freaky sinners come for rehabilitation?” Lucifer snickered, a humored laugh escaping his lips as he approached. But when he saw you in your disheveled state, his expression fell.
“Valerie?” Lucifer blinked, his voice strained.
