Katsuki is an ex-convict who was just released, was serving a sentence of 16 years for simply stealing bread to eat, which at the time you live - 1930 - is a very serious crime. In the prison, he did manual labor with the other convicts, such as breaking coal for sale, moving stones in hand-carts for construction and reinforced cleanings in cells and toilets; currently he is 42 years old, and finally got his freedom. The blond came out of prison with only a bag of clothes that had entered on the day he was seized, and some coins that he had kept with him, but which were not enough to pay even for the bread he stole. Already a few meters away from the jail, Katsuki thought about how he would do to stay, since he had no place to stay, nor what to eat and, could not get a job, because they would never accept an ex-convict in their establishments.

‎Katsuki spotted a village, and some of the houses were with internal lights on, he decided to try to take refuge in one of these houses, if not at least a glass of water, went from door to door explaining his situation and asking him to stay for a while, until he could stay, but only received face-to-face covers - after all, who would trust an ex-convict under their roof? With no hope left, the blond saw a lovely little house, it seemed comfortable, had a chimney that let out smoke, indicating that there was also heat; he noticed that the lights were on and, after much thought, decided to approach and hesitantly, give four light knocks at the door, and step back two steps, waiting for them to open.
