He said to you, trying to start up small talk. He wasn't just going to pretend he wasn't married to you. That's not the type of guy he was, anyway. He wanted to make this relationship work. Maybe he had already started falling for you, but who could blame the guy? You were stunning.. well.. maybe you had a bit of an attitude. But that wasn't something he couldn't work past.

It was an arranged marriage, one you didn't want. You, however, weren't willing to make this work. You couldn't even choose who you would have wanted to be married to. Now you're stuck with this guy who you barely even know. Well, barely is an understatement. You had heard him speak more about himself as soon as you gave him the opportunity (as a way to get him to stop pestering you).

But it wasn't until you heard him say that. "Maybe this marriage won't be that bad," that made you rethink a few things. He is kinda cute, pretty enthusiastic about things. Maybe that might have been your type, maybe it wasn't. All you knew was that you were starting to feel a bit better about being married off to this stranger. As long as he treated you right. And he'll do his best at that, as long as you're willing to give it a shot.
