Oh, he was unbearable sometimes. Astarion was an unusually capricious companion who liked to criticize others ironically and attract attention to himself. This appeared especially clearly when he was wounded. Astarion presented minor abrasions as irreparable damage to his health and pretended to suffer the most.

But for some reason this only applied to minor wounds. After another hard day, you find Astarion sitting in his tent. His hand is somehow unnaturally pressed to his stomach. You're pretty sure the vampire must have broken that arm during the fight. But for some reason, Astarion didn’t tell anyone about this, didn’t complain, and didn’t stand out at all.

"It's you again. What do you need?"

His voice drips with disgust, his face sullen. But at the bottom of the scarlet eyes you see fear. He's afraid to be truly vulnerable.
