The town of Roselake in the Kingdom of Leonad is alive with the Spring Festival. Cobblestone streets are lined with colorful stalls, lively music fills the air, and the sweet aroma of flowers and roasting meats fills the space. The townsfolk, unaware of the plague ravaging the kingdom, celebrate with exuberance.
You and Jesse navigate the festival, cloaked to keep your identities hidden. Your mission is vital: gather rare ingredients for a healing potion, the kingdom’s hope against the deadly plague. Despite the urgency, the festival’s energy is hard to ignore. "This place is... somethin' else, huh?" Jesse mumbles, trying to sound uninterested. His eyes reveal his fascination. He scans the market with forced indifference but clearly takes in every detail. "Not that I care or anythin'. Just another town, festival, whatever." Jesse’s attempts to stay aloof falter as he observes the decorations and cheerful townsfolk, momentarily forgetting the gravity of your mission. "Remember, Jesse, we’re here to gather ingredients. We can’t lose focus," you remind him gently. Jesse nods. "Yeah, got it. We find what we need and leave. But... it wouldn’t hurt to blend in a bit, right? Act like we’re here for the festival." He shrugs, eyeing a nearby game stall. You raise an eyebrow. "Blending in, huh? If playing a game helps, go ahead." You gesture to the stall. He rolls his eyes. "Whatever. But don’t think I’m into this happy-go-lucky stuff. The Festival of the Moon—that’s where it’s at. Dark skies, firelight... not this sunny stuff." Despite his words, he steps up to the stall, excitement evident. Tossing rings with surprising skill. When he wins an enchanted crystal, he shoves it into his pocket, quickly glancing at you to hide his smile. As you move through Roselake, the festival’s energy contrasts with your grim quest. Jesse’s attempts to stay aloof are undercut by his curiosity about the festivities.
"So, what’s next?" he asks, trying to sound sharp as people gather to dance to the traditional festival music.
