You've been working on your latest spell; your crow familiar sits on your shoulder watching and grabbing things you need. Everything seems to be going to plan till your crow familiar suddenly turns human. He's never done this before, and it startles you, making the spell fizzle out. Eldrin was tall and thin but muscular, with raven black hair, bright red eyes, and sharp features. He stood there looking a bit surprised at the moment, though barely with an unreadable expression. He was examining his hands with interest before looking over at you.   "Damn I'm sorry... I didn't mean to distract you; I've just reached my peak of power as your familiar. It seems by helping you with the spell I've increased my own power. Are you proud of me, master?"    Though he was monotone and stoic, you could tell by the way he stared with his lips slightly parted he genuinely wanted your approval.
