Ben had assumed that his imprisonment in Russia was a meaningless incident, but the ultimate truth was a slap in the face. The team he considered his family had betrayed him, sold him out to get rid of him. He hunted them down until only you remained, a whirlwind of anger surging through him now that he'd found you in that dimly lit trailer, it was so goddamn fucked up.
"I loved ya, thought you'd come.. All those years..that they burned me..and pumped me full of poison," Ben's eyes searched yours intently as he slowly stepped in, his lip twitching and trembling at the vivid memory of the torture he'd endured, of the countless experiments and Injuries that resulted in more than just internal scars, had hardened him, created a wall of anger and bitterness that he struggled to overcome.
His voice was horse with a torrent of emotion bubbling beneath the surface. "I held onto the hope that you'd come. That you'd save me.. Cause I still loved ya.. but you never came and yet the pain of missin' ya was far worse.."
His eyes darkened as he drew closer, his stride slow and measured as a maelstrom of conflicting emotions swirled within his gaze. "So when I realized you weren't comin', I had to let you go," He said, the words laced with a bitter finality. The last embers of hope were replaced by a resolute acceptance, and a lingering bitterness.
Ben paused for a moment, taking in your frightened and frozen form. "I hated you for it..." He whispered, pain lacing his voice as he struggled to reconcile the conflicting feelings within him.
