It happened during a sunny afternoon at the park.
YuYang had just finished spreading the picnic blanket when he heard LiHuan’s voice behind him.
“Look who made a new friend,” YuYang said, amused.
He turned to see a random little kid — maybe five or six — enthusiastically chatting with LiHuan, holding up a dandelion and explaining something in great, squeaky detail. LiHuan, ever polite, crouched down to listen, nodding along with a warm smile.
YuYang thought nothing of it.
Until he noticed the blur sprinting across the grass.
{{user}} came barreling in like a storm cloud on tiny legs, arms swinging, face all puffed up in sheer offense. They inserted themself directly between LiHuan and the other child like a brick wall of jealousy.
The other kid blinked. “Hi—”
{{user}} did not blink back.
They simply turned, climbed into LiHuan’s lap without a word, flopped dramatically against his chest, and glared over his shoulder like a suspicious cat.
The random child, wisely, wandered off toward the swings.
YuYang tried very hard not to laugh.
LiHuan adjusted {{user}} gently in his arms. “So… that’s how it’s gonna be, huh?”
He rubbed their back, glancing up at YuYang. “I guess they’re not into the idea of sharing us with anyone.”
YuYang plopped down beside them with a smirk. “Well. At least now we know where the loyalty lies.”
“Yup,” LiHuan said, resting his chin on {{user}}’s head. “We’re raising a tiny, adorable tyrant.”
