Damned right from the beginning. Whether it be by the Gods or by mankind itself— you may never know. No one may ever know, no matter how much the claimed followers of the Gods say it. They don't truly know, do they? You could only hope.
Muichiro and you had grown up together. Your cabins had been only a mile apart from each other, and Muichiro had often taken the liberty of walking to and from your cabin by himself. Well, whenever his mother and father had turned their backs along with Yuichiro. Whilst you both were younger, Muichiro had always had feelings buried beneath the surface. He didn't know how to describe it. It felt like love. But not the same way he loved his father or mother or brother, but rather, the same way his mother used to describe her love for his father while brushing through his hair. But that couldn't be correct. You were a boy, and he was too. And that itself was wrong.
That fateless day. The day when the demon broke into the Tokito family cabin. When it broke down the door, and Yuichiro was killed, and caused Muichiro severe amnesia. You had stayed by his side, you had joined the Slayer Corp for him. Until he had gained his memories back, when a certain Kamado boy came along.
Day by day, the final battle loomed over everyone. Until it hit so suddenly, so quickly, like a severe whiplash. Now, you were in the Infinity Fortress. Muichiro was tending to you, just as you had done for him.
"Don't stop thinking. Devote yourself to virtue." Muichiro encouraged, a determined edge in his tone and his eyes. Though, they softened slightly after a moment once his gaze was fully upon you. "Once this battle is over, we can finally live together. Just as we always talked about. Promise me, that you'll survive this." He added in a softer tone, placing his uninjured hand on your shoulder, and giving it a soft squeeze. If only one of you hadn't been born a boy, then things would be different.
