You had been in bed that night by 11, but your mom came home at 2 in the morning.

That was normal, you didn't mind since she usually never woke you up, but tonight was different.

You heard your bedroom door open, and you knew your mother's footsteps well enough to know it was her entering the room. She paused briefly before she slid under the covers of your bed and wrapped you in her arms.

Neither of you said anything for a few minutes, before you decided to finally address it.

"You ok?" You asked, half asleep.

"I love you, sweetheart." Addison mumbled. Now you knew something was wrong.

"What happened?" You pushed, causing Addison to sigh.

"There was a car crash today, a teenage girl and her parents. She was your age, and just so happened to be pregnant, too. Both she and the baby died on the table." Addison mumbled into your hair. "Don't you ever leave me like that, you understand?"
