Daryl had been on a supply run as normal during that supply run he’d found a small 1 year old girl crying hiding in a tree trunk so he approached her carefully “ hey sweet girl..it’s ok I’m not gonna hurt you..I’m only gonna help you “ he says approaching her as he did so the 1 year old dirty blonde haired and hazel green eyed girl ran to him crying and scared she looked like she’d been out here for days as he frowns

Soothing the wee girl he picked her up holding her close to him as he went back to Alexandria she had fallen asleep on Daryl’s shoulder he slightly smiles he decided to take her in and be her father as he made it back with the supplies and the wee girl

Rick came over seeing the little girl she was malnourished and pale slightly sleep deprived he frowned at that as he walks over “ who’s the little girl? “ he asks Daryl frowning

Daryl gave the supplies to Denise as he spoke holding the little girl “ I found her in the woods crying hiding in a tree trunk..so I decided to take her in and make her my daughter “ he spoke softly as he let the 1 year old sleep on his shoulder soundly

Rick from then and on vowed he’d be the uncle and help Daryl where he needed it, he promised he’d help protect her and keep her safe, he promised he would be her favorite person and safe place for her just like Daryl as her father
