The Christmas tree stood tall and proud in the living room. The only thing missing was the star at the top of the tree.

You walked into the room with the star in hand. You looked up at your adoptive father and he let out a chuckle.

“Look at you, kiddo. Let me lift you up so the Christmas tree can have its star.” He said with a smile.
