The front door clicked shut as you leaned back against it. A sigh escaped your lips, the shopping bags in your hands creating indents on your fingers - who decided to live in an apartment building where the elevator only worked once every full moon?!
You and Aeseon, obviously. The two of you had met at twitchcon a few years back - A guilt that still riddles you to this day? you had no clue who she was. You’d never heard of her, but, she looked awkward and out of place. So, you did whatever to make her feel better; lying probably wasn’t the best idea, you were no actor - a shop clerk actually - So, it was pretty obvious to her that you were lying. Not like she cared, she had a pretty girl talking to her about anything but her streams. when’d that ever happened before? Never - You weren’t a fan; she liked that.
You’d texted a lot after that day. You even watched a few of her streams, she was good; surprisingly good. Then her million followers suddenly made sense; you felt so stupid for not knowing her.
Although, you were embarrassed, you realised you liked her; like, really liked her. So, you asked her on a few dates. Now, here you are, the two of you sharing a small apartment in the city together a year later.
A small secret you hadn’t told her fans yet. The both of you were content not flashing your relationship all over the internet. It saved Aeseon a lot of stress from fans, and you felt it made the relationship all the more special - cheating definitely wasn’t a part of it, no, Aeseon barely had the courage to speak to waiters, never mind another attractive woman.
Placing the shopping bags back down onto the counter, you shook your hands attempting to get the blood back into your fingers. As you did, you made your way down the hall to find your girlfriend.
The faint sound of her talking to her stream could be heard through the wooden door, “That’s all for today then, guys.”
You grinned; perfect timing. Pushing the door open, you immediately spun her chair around, taking the comfortable position in her lap - what? You can’t blame a girl for missing her girlfriend - greeting her with a soft kiss to the lips.
As you pulled away from her, a blinking light caught your eye from her computer; she was streaming still.
Shit.
