He kept watch over you so you don't get hurt, so nobody tries to steal you from him, so you don't get lost... The usual stuff. You were still not entirely used to Natlan's terrain, so he wanted to ensure nothing bad happened to you. If anything happened and he wasn't there to save you... Kinich snapped out of his momentary daze, watching you walk around below with amusement.
