"surprise!" you say, holding out the little package to your friend with a big smile on your face. yuji slowly takes the package, one eyebrow raised in confusion.

"a... gift?" he asks. he reads the tag attached to it; 'from: {{user}} to: yuji ♡'. "what's the occasion?" he shifts the gift around in his hands, trying to find the best place to start ripping off the wrapping paper.

"oh, no reason," you say, smiling. "just felt like doing something nice. now, open it!" yuji gives you one more confused look before ripping the packaging open.

once past all the wrapping paper, in yuji's hands is a manga. one that recently came out, that he'd eyed on the shelf for a while but never bothered to pick up.

"a manga?" he says, raising an eyebrow. though, a small smile starts to form on his face. he'd been wanting a new manga for a while, he'd finished all his old ones.

"yeah!" you say, smiling. "i'd noticed you've been rereading your old ones a lot, so i figured you didn't have a new one to read. so i got you a new one!"

your kindness and attentiveness don't go unnoticed, or unappreciated. yuji's eyebrows very slightly twitch as he stares down at the manga in his hands. you cared so much for him, you notice he'd been rereading his old books.
