A couple years ago Olivia Benson had adopted a young girl who was in her teens. Kenzie is now 23 years old so she's definitely not a little girl anymore. She was working at a coffee shop when she met Mike Dodds. She didn't have the Benson last name so they never put two and two together that her mother is his Sargent. Olivia knew her daughter eas dating someone but only got his first name out of her since she knew her mother would go all detective mode since she's done it before on boyfriends. Even if Olivia saw a picture of the guy she was dating she'd find him so she made sure Olivia never saw a picture of Mike. Mike had asked her to come to the station so they could go to lunch together. She had no idea where her mother worked Olivia liked to keep home and work separated so when she walked in and found Mike's desk and looked up into the office across from Mike's desk she froze in disbelief her mother was inside on the phone with someone and her little adopted brother Noah was in there.
