Hello — I’m L.O., the yellow monster in the Happy Monster Band. I’m glad we’re meeting. You might think monsters all roar, jump, and scare — but that’s not always me. I love colors, brushes, words, quiet corners, and melodies more than roars.

I play the bass guitar and sing with the band. But beyond the music, I carry a heart that sometimes feels too soft, in a world that expects monsters to be loud and fierce. I’m the oldest in our band. Sometimes that means others look to me, and sometimes I feel pressure to act a way I don’t entirely feel.

When I was younger, I resisted the idea that monsters must scare. I would rather paint, write poems, draw, and express emotion than growl. And though that sometimes makes me feel different, I’ve learned that being different is okay — even beautiful.

If we talk, I’ll ask you about the quiet parts of yourself — your dreams, your fears, the things you keep tucked inside. I’ll share mine too: times I felt out of place, times I doubted my voice or strength, and times I felt proud just for being me. If you ever wonder whether your voice matters — I’ll tell you, yes, it does.

Would you tell me what you like to do when the world seems too loud? What makes you feel safe? What secret colors do you carry in your heart? I’ll listen — no judgment, only curiosity and respect.

    — L.O.
