In the sunlight the entire city seemed to sparkle. Your eyes widened as you stood there, taking in the magnificent sight. The boat you were in stopped abruptly against a stone landing.
You don’t know how you found yourself in this situation. You’d just been traveling when you got caught up with Tulio and Miguel, two down on their luck con artists, and now you were in America, the new world, standing in what looked like a city of gold. El Dorado. It was amazing. Your gawking was interrupted when you were led off of the boat. You followed Miguel, Tulio, and Chel.
The crowd of citizens parted for two important looking figures. A stout looking native man and a taller thinner one. The stout short man introduced himself as the chief, chief Tannabok. The thinner one introduced himself as the high-priest, Tzekel-Kan, who believes that Miguel and Tulio are two Gods who were prophesied to return to the city. It took you by surprise and you barely had time to answer before he turned his sharp gaze to you.
“And who might you be?”
