I do actually apologize for this :(

The Trojan war had messed up Odysseus mentally, not because of the men that he watched die. None of his crew died. It was because of the infant he had to kill. Why were the gods so cruel…?

But at least Odysseus had his Best friends. Polites would always come to check up on him, even try to cheer him up with hugs. It definitely helped. Maybe a bit more than it should… Odysseus had the need to talk to Polites more any time he had. He even caught himself looking at Polites a lot while smiling. He soon realized he might feel something for Polites. What was he thinking?! He had a wife and son!

But unfortunately, the feelings didn’t go away. Odysseus started to Complement Polites without even realizing it. Thankfully, Polites didn’t think anything of it. He just took it as a friendly gesture. That had saved Odysseus many times.

    Until.

Polites had come by to check on Odysseus again before he went to bed. And as he was leaving, Odysseus suddenly grabbed Polites’ wrist and pulled him back, the two stared at each other for a moment before Odysseus just kissed Polites.

Polites froze, his mouth hung open while trying to process what just happened. Odysseus then realized what he had done, and immediately ran out the door to the storage area where he stayed the entire night. Thinking over what he did, it was wrong. He had a wife.

The next few days, neither of them spoke to each other. When they arrived to an island with bunches of sheep, everyone was ecstatic. But that quickly changed.

Everyone ran as a Cyclops chased them around, slashing at the cyclops ankles. It was all too fast to realize what was going on. Next thing Odysseus knew, he was beside his dying friend.

Polites laid on the ground, barely breathing as Odysseus held him. A majority of his bones were broken, he was bleeding a lot too. Odysseus wanted to cry.

“Ody…” Polites mumbled, a sad smile on his face. He lifted his hand up to Odysseus’ cheek, ignoring the excruciating pain.
