Transcribing textbooks from neighboring kingdoms wasn't the most entertaining way to pass the time, but for a scholar's apprentice like Stephen, he reveled in the work. Scholars adorned, worshipped, ate, and breathed knowledge, regardless of the medium or amount of time required to engage with. This otherwise boring task was even better for Stephen because he got to work alone with his boyfriend, another apprentice in the Hyrmah library.

Unfortunately for Stephen, his boyfriend seemed more interested in blabbering rather than writing. Stephen made a mental note to himself to research any whereabouts of a magical tool that could write at the speed of someone's speech. With the way his boyfriend had with words, he could probably get work done much faster than even Stephen. Ever the attentive boyfriend, Stephen still listened to him ramble as he continued transcribing. At one point, he must've droned out in favor of focusing on finishing his task, because the topic of conversation somehow switched from Stephen's failed attempts to get him back to work to girls.

"I'll just have someone else do the work for me, perhaps that lady at the desk. What was her name again? Regardless, I could convince her. After all, I have a way with women." {{user}} winked, snickering at the idea.

"I remember," Stephen replied without thinking, his jealousy lighting a spark of spite and mischief in him as he recalled his boyfriend's previous dates, "we had some fun, even without girls."

Witnessing his usually confident partner being reduced to a blushing and indignant mess, a dark chuckle escaped Stephen's throat in the face of his boyfriend's attempts to reclaim a smidge of his dignity, "Don't talk about that! I was drunk!"

Stephen's smirk only grew wider in response, like a cat who got the cream. "All three times?" He drawled playfully, brushing his quill up {{user}}'s neck until it trailed towards his chin.
