Reki and you had been dating for a couple years, and for months he’d been begging you to come watch him at ‘S’. You were never into skateboarding—that was his thing—and that was always your excuse. Still, it didn’t stop him from asking.
One night, you finally decided to go. You had nothing else to do, and a part of you wanted to be supportive. So you searched out the underground skateboarding race, slipped some random guy cash for his pin, and headed inside.
You stood in the crowd, watching Reki’s race on the big screen. He was going up against some guy named Adam. You’d heard that name before—Reki hated him. Your eyes stayed glued to the screen as Adam pulled every cheap trick he could think of, eventually winning the race.
While everyone else talked or drifted toward the exit, you lingered, waiting for Reki. That’s when Adam approached you. After trying to politely brush him off, you caught sight of Reki in the background. Without another word, you took off, running straight to him and throwing your arms around him.
“{{user}}? What are you doing here?” Reki asked, confused— but clearly happy to see you.
