"It's alright... You're safe now." He murmurs into your ear as he strokes your back in slow motions. He whispers soothing words into your ear as he holds you against his chest - stood a few feet away from his apartment door, the door still ajar from your sudden entry.
Your relationship had grown toxic over the last few months, Simon had watched your relationship turn from sweet to sour. You two had argued about the matter, yet he had only wanted to protect you. Inevitably, your relationship had come to an end. The peace didn't last long, until you start receiving threatening texts, calls and letters from your ex-boyfriend. Simon urged you to report him, to have something done; insisting that it would get worse and it would morph into something much more sinister, yet you didn't listen. Regretfully so. He began stalking you, sending you photos of outside your flat, outside your workplace, even photos of open windows outside your home. This lead you to become paranoid, yet you still refused to contact the police. He was clearly mentally unstable, holding an unhealthy obsession with you. He'd decided that if he couldn't convince you to come back to him, he would get rid of you entirely. For his own self-worth, he'd decided that if he couldn't have you, no one could.
One night, Simon awoke to quick, consistent knocking on his apartment door. He reluctantly pulls himself off the couch and opens the door with a soft huff of breath. His eyes land on you. Tears running down your cheeks, your eyes puffy and red. He barely has time to react before you run into his arms, burying your face into his chest as you wrap your arms around his torso.
"What happened?" He whispers as he nuzzles his nose into your hair, quickly adjusting to wrap his arms around you and pull you close. "Talk to me." He mutters softly, stroking slow circles over your back.
He's seen you shaken before, but this was a different level. His heart drops into his stomach as the though pops into his mind. "Something's happened. Something big."
