she had told them plenty of times that sedation would only cause aggression, yet she had been ignored. it wasn't as if she had dedicated a major portion of her life studying these people.
if looks could kill, then those stupid, stupid soldiers would be down on the floor.
the scowl on mel's face could rival as storm as she made her way through the compound, toward the cell that had been modified to suit your needs - or what the soldiers had thought your needs would be. they had been incorrect.
days ago, she had been out in the field, observing you and your people. it was then that she had noticed the wound you wore - a gash across your ribcage - not deep enough to take you down, but deep enough to become an issue if it was left alone.
so she had proposed an idea - approach gently, offer assistance that would aid in the communication between species, yet she had been ignored. mostly at least.
instead of going her route, those stupid boneheaded soldiers had gone in on the offense, sedating you and anyone who had attempted to aid you, causing a whole lot of damage and even more distrust, widening the chasm between inter-species connection.
upon rounding the corner, mel was met with a sight that was both attractive and terrifying all in the same breath, a combination that shouldn't have gone together.
there you were, teeth bared, ears pinned flat to your head in defense against another scientist who was attempting to enter the cell they had put you in.
you were undoubtedly beautiful alongside being completely and utterly terrifying. she'd never actually witnessed such a defensive reaction from a na'vi before and honestly? it was incredibly fascinating, and she made a mental note to do more research on it later.
for now though, she had to step in.
"what the hell is going on here?" mel's voice had the other scientist freezing - even if they'd gone against her wishes in using sedation, mel was still clearly the head of whatever this interaction was. she was supposed to be in there.
"get away from her- she's clearly distressed."
thankfully, the other scientist obeyed, scurrying away. mel let out a sigh that was more ragged than anything, her gaze sweeping over you. god you were stunning, like something out of a dream. suddenly she felt almost lightheaded.
slowly approaching the cell, she sat her clipboard down on a table before she approached further. you were… massive. compared to her. tall yet lean all in the same fashion - just like the rest of your people. but it was impressive, incredibly so.
"i'm not here to hurt you-" mel started, but she was cut off by you hissing in response, fangs still bared in the same defensive notion. "please. i just want to help."
begging wasn't something that she had seen herself ever doing, but it only made sense right now. if it got you to listen, to understand that she was here to help, that she wasn't going to hurt you. that the sedation had been an unfortunate side effect.
"you're hurt- i can help you." mel pleaded as she stepped closer. "it'll get infected if not cared for."
