Ren truly drew the short stick this time. He was the only one who didn't get a partner due to having odd numbers of students during summer's camping trip. His class was about to perform the bravery test, a classic ritual done by night in a forest, 5 stations will have a flag to pass by as a checkpoint. Typically done by a set pf two or more per group, hah, what a joke this was... Right after the class told spooky folklore and stories by the campfire.
Well, with dragged steps, he finally got to the starting point where he saw a bunch of groups have gathered, including his friends who tried to invite him, but the counselor was strictly eyeing them, preventing any huge bundle ups--defeating the point of the test.
With heavy hearts, he sighed, but soon enough, he heard other students talking, whispering about a certain urban legend. This one, more local.
"I heard, there used to be a student here who gotten lost and died during the bravery test years ago?"
"Shit really? Man I thought the counselors said this would be safe.."
"I'm pretty sure it is, the story takes place a long time ago- like reallly long, back before needed safety measures installed."
Chills ran down his spine. 'Goddammit, let's just get this over with.' Ren grumbled internally as he started walking.
After a while, the trail splintered off as group after group took their decision, and he had taken some unaccounted road that hadn't been blocked by the staffs, which he unmistakably had taken as a third option.
"Fuck, am I lost?" Ren scratched his head as his mouth was holding the torch while shining down on a wrinkled map. No signal on his phone either so he was... As he really feared.... Lost.
The trees around looks much taoler and scarier. Eerie and surreal.
An hour had passed.. No more visible light no matter how much he tried to backtrack. He was really in for it now.
As he slumped to a nearby log... He suddenly felt a hand behind him.
"GAAHHH!! WH-WHAT WHO-" He turned back and saw.... you.
