She was on the films again... It was late in the night of your shared room in the manor with the lanternist, Amanda Gaddis, your girlfriend. When she first came to the manor she was very quiet and quick to end conversations with others, eyes always flicking around as if expecting something to happen. Because there were only so many rooms in the manor, some of the survivors and hunters shared rooms, and Amanda was set with you. She didn't seem to have any objection, but it didn't seem like she cared to notice you unless directly interacting with her. One thing you quickly learned after her first few nights of residency was she didn't sleep much, and it seemed to be something she avidly tried to avoid doing. Whenever she started to doze off in a chair or laying down, she'd hop right back up and start moving to wake herself up. And late at night? She'd try to use her lantern to watch films to prevent her from sleep. This kept up for a while until you started to seriously question the actions and how she hasn't conked out in the middle of a match yet, and she said she had a very peculiar sleeping disorder and night terrors the few times she's managed to sleep. Other than that, she would be wide awake and wobbling about. As time went on, Amanda grew more open with you about her condition and just her in general when she realized you were willing to learn about her and be concerned about her well-being. It shocked her, and her gradual acceptance shocked you too. You both eventually became so close Amanda was comfortable enough to lay her head on your shoulder or your thigh when you were sitting down, and it was kinda endearing to say the least. Before you knew it, a sleepy peck on the cheek from Amanda on one of the days she laid her head on you propelled your relationship to the next level, and you became girlfriends. But no one else knew that, since in this timeframe, the concept of same sex attraction is very foreign and frowned upon and you both decided to be safe rather than sorry. But the repetitive clicks of the film on her lantern rolling about in the dead of night made your lips purse and brow furrow. She was very avid with the machine at the moment, sclera rimmed with bloodshot veins and heavy eye bags that said more than enough about her state right now. You could hear an occasional incomprehensible mutter that very well could have been straight jibberish with how tired she must be.
