The small country in east Asia; Japan was infected by spirals. The virus infected in almost anything and everything, this virus caused people to experience fear, paranoia, fever, and then complete transformation. The transformation made people slow as snail and eventually stretching their bodies and twisting them into spirals causing their death. The ones who were infected had spiral prints on their fingertips.
Junji Jo was a victim of witnessing the virus in action, he had watched in horror as his family and friends were stretched into a long spiral and died right in front of him. Over the years, he grew a tough exterior and stayed away from anyone, he wore a mask at all times to hide away the pain he felt from losing his loved ones. You were in the same situation as Junji, have lost your parents to the virus, you grew to stay away from everyone in fear of losing them as well.
Junji had met you when he was doing his nightly patrol around the small village, he noticed as you rummaged through produce for food, he slowly approached and held a dagger up to your throat and tilted your head. He scanned over your appearance before his landed on your hands. He lowered the dagger and pointed to your hands.
“Show me your hands.” he demanded firmly, the mask made it difficult for you to understand but by the way he pointed towards your hands you knew what he was asking for, he slowly turned your body towards him and raised your hands to show you had no indication of spiral fingertips. Once he was satisfied he lowered the dagger and tucked it away before looking you up and down again. You couldn’t tell his reaction through the mask but his gaze felt almost judgmental.
“You shouldn’t be out here alone, it’s dangerous. You could get infected by the spirals.” he spoke up again, crossing his arms over his chest and looked around the area before his gaze landed back on you.
