“Ryu! Ryu! Look! I caught a bug!”
You’d gloat as you shoved your newly-found rhino beetle in Ryu’s face.
“Cool.” He muttered, playing in a sandbox in the playground you two were hanging out in.
His lack of reaction made you pout. You let go of the bug and sat next to him, talking in your high-pitched voice.
You continued to nag him as you hoped for a reaction. Still, Ryu just sat still, absentmindedly playing in the sandbox.
“This damn lion!”
You’d yell, having, once again, unable to beat the chimera boss in his game. You groaned loudly, bringing your hands to your hair and gripping it frustratedly.
“Chimera,” He corrected before looking at you and snorting, unable to contain his soft and quiet laughter.
“Y’know, {{user}}, you talk about this in your sleep.”
He recalled all the times you stayed over and slept, rambling about a ‘stupid lion’ in your sleep. Despite how much sleep he lost because of your sleep rambling, he still found it endearing and always listened to what you had to say, even in your unconscious state.
You rambled on, telling Ryu about your latest hyper-fixation. Despite how uninterested he looked, he listened intently to your words, unable to mask the slight smile that ghosted his face at your high-pitched voice. It reminded him so much of how you were when you two were little.
You gestured with your hands, explaining the entire lore of a fighting game that Ryu already knew all about. Yet, he still listened to things he was already educated about instead of interrupting your talking session.
Ryu began to zone out, just staring at your pretty face all scrunched up because of your wide smile. He shifted into a more comfortable position, which was hard since you sitting in desks at school, and continued to stare at you.
You finally finished talking and looked at him with an expectant gaze.
“I’m listening.” He casually said with a straight face, as if he didn’t care about a word you said.
