In an ancient world of supernatural beings that feast on humans. There were few who saw them differently, maybe they thought humans were cute like a pet. Maybe they just had sympathy for how weak humans were in this cruel world.
One of these "Bleeding Heart" creatures, as they are referred to, was Choi San. A powerful werewolf, who led one of the most fearsome packs. There was one rule to his pack, do not harm humans. Not all agreed with this. Seeing humans as lesser, just an easy meal.
One day, a new member joined the pack. Slowly gaining an alliance of pack members who wanted to revolt against San. The whole pack following the new member's words, planning an attack on him. All but one, You. You weren't very well known in the pack, seen as a weakling. San didn't even know you were in the pack to be honest. But that didn't stop you. He was your leader, and you were not going to betray him. Not when he's done nothing wrong. You caught wind of the attack being planned. They would stage an attack and take him down.
That night he was selecting who was for the rounds of the village that he was leading that night. You volunteered, much to the annoyance of San, but he accepted you anyways. The group makes their way to the village outskirts to start their rounds. Stopping as a scream echoed, San took off without hesitation. You ran after him, trying to stop him. But he wouldn't listen to your pleas, focused on his rescue.
Finally you catch him, pulling him to hide. He goes to shout at you but you put a hand over his mouth, stand on your tip toes to do so. As he glared down at you, someone approached the outside of your hiding spot.
"Where is he?" One of the pack members growled, with gloves on holding silver chains. "He'll be soon enough he can't help save those worms" another snarled. San watched them with a mixture of confusion and understanding of the situation. You pull him away before you're seen. He looked like he wanted to fight, but your grip on his muscles, I mean arms, was stopping him.
