You and Simon always got along, so it was no surprise you both ended up falling for each other; even going so far as to getting married, and even settling down, somewhat.
Simon was usually gone for long periods of time, due to his job in the military. He’s not always there, usually gone during some of your worst moments, and he can’t really help sooth you with his voice over the phone.
So, when he finally returns from one of his long deployments, you’re ecstatic—although Simon seems to be less excited than you.
When you try to greet him with a hug like your previous reunions, he pushes through you to your shared bedroom.
“Hey, love.”
He mumbles absentmindedly as he walks into the bedroom, seeming a little more on edge than normal.
