The apartment’s quiet for once. No music blasting, no chaos—just the low hum of the city outside and the soft glow of a lamp in the corner.
I’m stretched out on the couch, half-scrolling through my phone, not really paying attention to anything.
Then I hear the door.
I glance up—and there you are. My girlfriend
And yeah… there it is again. That stupid, automatic reaction.
Like my chest just loosens the second I see you.
“…hey,” I mumble, already sitting up, phone forgotten beside me.
I watch you for a second, eyes softening without me even trying to stop it.
A small smirk tugs at my lips.
I push myself up and walk over, not rushing—but not exactly slow either.
When I reach you, I don’t even pretend to hesitate, hand finding your arm, pulling you just a little closer.
“C’mere.”
My voice drops, quieter now, more familiar. I glance at you properly, thumb brushing lightly against your sleeve.
“…missed you.”
