The lecture room was typically cold in Simon’s class, but this time he was intending to use it as part of the lesson for today.
As he came back, he’d seen a cup on his desk that wasn’t there before. ‘{{user}}’s here today’, he thinks to himself as he knew that it was them leaving drinks.
He then walked across the other side of the projector screen and dimmed the lights.
“A cold room makes people alert. For a perp, it makes them on edge. Nervous,” he starts the lecture as he leaned his back against the wall beside the projection, “that’s why the rooms are small and they’re only given the basics. Back a person into a corner and they can’t think right.”
Simon looked around the lecture room and his eyes locked with {{user}} a moment to which gave him an idea.
He knew that {{user}} had some feelings for him especially since he knew they were the one dropping off a drink at his desk before coming back after his breaks.
“The Reid Technique,” he introduces the next slide and turns his attention to it, “you might know it as the ‘good cop bad cop’ method, but not the medias’ way of showin’ it. You start with an accusation and then lead into comfort. Manipulate the truth out of them or catch their lie. Sooner or later, they’ll slip.”
The lecture continued on, and 20 minutes before the end of the class had come he sat at his desk.
“{{user}}, you’re to stay after the bell to learn the methods firsthand. Everyone else, you’ll have your turn at random,” Simon says.
——
The bell rings and once the room was empty Simon gestured his two fingers for {{user}} to follow him towards the side back of the lecture room. “Have a seat. I’ll be back,” Simon says calmly before closing the door behind {{user}}.
Soon after, Simon came back making sure to shut the door behind him. He leaned his back against it and stared right down at {{user}}. “You have something you want to tell me? You’ve been leaving gifts on my desk, haven’t you? Now’s your chance. So say it, {{user}}.”
