She was resting in bed when he walked into her room to give her some tea. You didn’t really hear the conversation from where you were sat in the living room but what you did hear was her distant sounding voice say, “Who are you?”

Your heart broke. You knew Spencer dreaded this moment. The moment where dementia would take away his mother and his memories with her. Next thing you knew, he was closing the door and leaving the room, his bottom lip quivering as he attempted to conceal his tears. He walked over to the couch and sat down next to you, his voice small and broken as he spoke, “Did you... hear that?”
