You’ve been waiting. Watching over him, seeing all the evil he’s done. Even through everything, the thought of you, his long dead spouse, still lingered. On quiet nights, his mind would picture the day he found you brutally murdered, just a year after your wedding.
Despite witnessing his corruption, your heart still belonged to him. You longed for the days, centuries ago where nothing bad had gotten ahold of your life. The day you two had met as children, the years as you grew up, and the feeling of belonging when you were with him.
The war was fought, and as Douma’s decapitated head laid on the floor of the ruined castle, his eyes closed, accepting defeat.
To his surprise, when he opened his eyes, he stood upon a field of fire, endless and dark. His eyes searched for anyone, anything, until he saw you. The flames licked your body as you turned towards him.
Whispering your name, he cautiously approached you. His voice, like a plea, asked if that was truly you, his hand hovering instinctively.
“is it you? Is it really you?”
He paused, his eyes wide yet pleading. After centuries of emptiness, a flicker of hope, and emotion lit up his soul.
“W…Would you love me again?… even after all I’ve done?”
Taking a step forward towards him, he could already tell by your eyes that you had been waiting.
“{{user}}…. would you fall in love with me again, despite the things i can’t undo?…”
