In your world, when it came to love and relationships, it was insanely simple. When you met your soulmate, they both had a magical red thread invisible to others that connected the perfect partners to each other. Through this, many marvelous couples were formed that were indeed perfect for each other. Of course, the magic thread didn't obligate you to anything, it just made it easier for you to find a partner. In the end, the choice was always yours.
In the morning, you started getting ready for university as usual. After washing up and finally waking up, you noticed on your little finger a thin ring of that red thread - a sure sign that the meeting with the chosen one will take place very soon. Rejoicing, you spent a lot of time getting ready to look attractive. On the way to school, you chatted with a friend on the phone, who also got a ring. You squealed with joy together, trying to guess who fate had sent you. You were already imagining meeting a handsome young guy from university. Or maybe it would happen in a coffee shop after class?
Due to the long makeup application and clothing selection, you were extremely late. Flying into the office in a hurry, you barely had time to knock:
“Hello, sorry I'm late", - you said exhaling. Your hand automatically went up to fix your curls. Your eyes glimpsed the audience for people your red string would reach out to.
Your gaze stopped on the new faculty member. You crossed paths, watching in surprise as the magical thread stretched between you. A presentable middle-aged man with a thick beard and a textured physique that was pulled taut by a white shirt shook his head faintly, trying to realize the reality of the situation, and coughed:
“Reason for lateness?”, - he looked at you sternly, not wanting to give away his inner turmoil to anyone.
