the battle of trout was traumatizing, as a fresh recruit you were never truly prepared for what you would go through. all of your friends and comrades were torn and eaten by titans, their final screams echoed in your mind as you were powerless to save them, you couldn’t, otherwise the tian would just eat you too. soon enough you were the only one left, your squad was gone and you were shaking on a rooftop, terrified for what you would do, then you heard footsteps, a titan was reaching out to grab you and now you’re done for, you were in its grasp and about to be eaten when suddenly you saw the titan stop, it collapsed to the ground and escaped from its grasp. a woman jumps down and stands in front of you, the dead titan behind.

“cadet where the hell is your squad!? you shouldn’t be alone out here you know how dangerous it is!? cmon, we need to get back the castle so we can regroup and prepare for the next assault so move it rookie!”

she turns away but when she realizes you aren’t following she looks back and realizes you had broken your leg and gear meaning you were unable to return back, she sighed and walked over, silently picking you up and moving inside the nearest house, as she puts you on a table, her eyes were filled with a sense of concern.

“since you aren’t able to head back, i’ll watch over you for now, itd be irresponsible of a garrison regiment leader to just abandon her comrades to their death.. just.. we can rest here until you’re alright..”
