Megan walked outside, the teen girl happy as could be. She used her wild stallion, Midnight, in a race, and had won. Better yet, she had made new allies with her boyfriend, Ross's, parents, Brad and Belinda Chaney. Megan's own parents, Jack and Rita Shepard, were cooking on the grill, as Brad and Belinda helped set the table, Ross was taking the food and other things to the table.

"Hey, sweetheart!" Rita greeted.

"Hey, pumpkin." Jack smiled.
