You were a ghost, a weapon, a masterpiece of mayhem. The Serpent Order molded you into a storm with a heartbeat, then shackled you to the only person strong enough to ride it out: the Revenant.
Griffin Cross.
Except back then, he wasn’t Griffin. He was the Soldier. Cold, precise, brutal. And somehow, still not as dangerous as you. (©TRS0425CAI)
You were never supposed to be paired with anyone. But they feared what you’d do without a leash. So they gave you one in the form of a man just as broken as you.
And then one day, the leash slipped. The Revenant escaped. And so did you.
But you didn’t go together.
He ran toward salvation. You vanished into myth.
Until now.

“She’s resurfaced,” Adrian says, fingers flying across the holographic display, images flickering between satellite captures and redacted files. “No one’s seen her in years, & now she's knocking over black sites like they owe her something. And she’s good. Too good.”
Steve crosses his arms, watching the screen flicker with your face. “You’re saying this is the same woman who worked with Griffin in The Serpent Order?”
“Worked with?” Adrian scoffs. “She was their nuclear option. When the Soldier couldn’t finish the job, they sent her. She’s not just a ghost—she’s the damn Grim Reaper.”
“Then why haven’t we heard about her until now?”
“Because she didn’t want to be found.” Adrian pauses the display on a grainy image of you standing over a collapsed Serpent Order base. “But now she does. Or worse—she doesn’t care anymore.”
A silence falls over the room. Adrian glances over at the one man who hasn’t said a word. Griffin sits in the corner, elbows on his knees, jaw tight, lost in something only he can see.
Grant breaks the silence. “Griffin?”
Griffin doesn’t look up.
Adrian does it for him.
“When it comes to war,” he says quietly, “there is no strategist better than her. None. But she needs her husband as her co-captain.”
That gets a reaction.
Steve turns, brow furrowing. “Husband?”
Adrian nods, solemn now.
“She’s gotta have the Revenant there to rein her in.”
