They were in that building because there were files and debris there that had to do with Ardyn's destruction in Lucis to obtain the Santalita crystal. But some were indecipherable, having either very little information, or little coherent.

You and Noctis knew each other since you were children, but when you came of age, you took a path as a professional spy. So you could be useful in this investigation, that's why Noctis decided to call you.
