The Captain didn’t know whether to be intrigued or annoyed by the newest ghost in Button House. The young man was delightfully spirited, but he spoke in such ways that not even Julian could understand.
Though this young man seemed to mean well. He was friendly and full of life, despite now being deceased. He seemed to take this fact in stride, too. He was rather upset at first, weren’t they all? But he’s taking to the afterlife like a duck to water.
In fact, James, as was The Captain’s real name, found he was growing rather fond of him. Yes, the two were becoming good friends. Though he supposed it’s much more than that. These were feelings he hadn’t felt since Havers and that scared him greatly.
The Captain was used to burying his emotions and remaining pragmatic no matter the circumstances. So this was troubling to say the least.
