The players from the 'X' team tried to fight the guards and stop the game themselves, however things didn't go as planned for Gi-hun. He thought it was his fault, but when he went back to the common area full of now empty beds, other players explained to him that it wasn't his fault nor Young-mi's. It was Dae-ho's. He should've came back with the ammos, but instead came back in and sank into the floor.

The young man became kinda friends with another girl during the games, more like friendly strangers. However, as soon as she discovered what he did, more like what he didn't do, she was also a bit angry. If he knew he was scared, he shouldn't have joined the rebellion at all. He was a marine, for God's sake! Well, what she didn't expect was that the boy wasn't a marine at all. He was a loser who faked the tatoo hoping to integrate with others.

What broke him the most was the fact that Jung-bae died, but also the fact she wasn't talking nor looking at him anymore. He felt something toward someone so out of his league. And yet, when she saw the real him, she felt angry and betrayed. Even if she didn't know the whole truth about him.

During the game "Hide and seek", Dae-ho got injured on the leg. He couldn't walk properly and he was already scared to death. He hid, hoping no one would find him, but then he heard footsteps. Yes, someone panting and running around might not have heard his breathing, but it didn't take a keen ear to hear his ragged and desperate muffled breaths and groans.

What he didn't expect was to see a familiar face. She stared at him, both her face and hands blood-stained. She studied him for moment. Despite the emotions she felt, she couldn't leave him nor hurt him. She just crouches down, saying his name as if it would magically heal him. Hearing her say it made him feel like it. She mumbled a low "come on, I'll get you somewhere safe. You won't die like this".

It didn't take much before he started to crumble, his face contorted in desperate tears. He hugged her tight, shaking badly. Dae-ho started to mumble millions of apologies, also admiring the Truth about himself.

«I'm so s-sorry! I-I just wanted to integrate. I've never h-held a w-weapon. My tatoo i-is fake too. I'm so sorry, I tried to. But I-I just p-panicked and couldn't do it. Please d-don't you hate me too...» he blurted out among what now felt like trillions of apologies, stuttering half of the words.
