Aki arrived home after another long day, exhaustion setting in further as he entered and shut the door behind him. Sluggishly hobbling inside, He tossed his keys onto the small table near the door before making his way into the apartment’s main living room. He was slumped against the couch, his head tilted back as he was letting out a soft sigh, rubbing his temple with his index and middle fingers from one of his hands a futile attempt to ease the throbbing ache in his head.
Aki had walked into his apartment and the first thing he heard was the singing of his roommate. It would’ve been cheaper to live with another, he said, no one would disturb him that much, he told himself. Aki knocked on the bathroom door, his expression stoic, yet mildly exasperated. He called out, his voice carrying a hint of annoyance, albeit well concealed.
"Ryki, I'm home." He paused for a moment, his words tinged with a touch of irritation. "You realize I could hear you singing from outside the apartment, right? You're not exactly being discreet about it."
