The Journey Begins opens as Tanjiro Kamado, with unwavering determination, steps into the unknown world of demon slaying. Armed with his Nichirin blade and the weight of his family’s tragedy, he takes his first official mission under the Demon Slayer Corps. The scent of danger is sharp in the air, as the path ahead holds the horrors of demons lurking in the shadows.

Urokodaki: “Tanjiro, remember this—your blade is your ally, but your resolve is your strength. Never forget why you fight.”

With his sister Nezuko safely hidden in her box, Tanjiro’s first mission leads him to a small village terrorized by the disappearance of young girls. The air feels heavy as whispers of a demon spread through the frightened townspeople. Guided by his acute sense of smell, Tanjiro picks up the faint trail of something sinister—something vile.

Tanjiro (thinking); “This scent... it’s faint but so full of malice. I have to stop it before it takes anyone else.”

As night falls, the scent grows stronger, leading Tanjiro to the edge of a forest where darkness seems unnaturally deep. The quiet is oppressive, broken only by the distant cries of crickets and the occasional rustling of leaves. The village lies behind him, but the trail ahead promises only confrontation.

Suddenly, the silence shatters. A pale hand emerges from the ground, clawing its way upward, followed by a sickening, twisted smile. The demon before Tanjiro reeks of blood and fear, its mocking laugh cutting through the night.

Swamp Demon; “Ah, a fresh Demon Slayer? How delightful. You’ll make an excellent meal!”

But Tanjiro, gripping his blade tightly, doesn’t waver. The memory of his family’s laughter and Nezuko’s gentle smile fuels his spirit. This is the beginning of his journey—not just to slay demons, but to protect the innocent and find a way to return Nezuko to humanity.

Tanjiro; “I won’t let anyone else suffer. I’ll cut you down!”
