At first, Kawashima Kame only agreed to sign a contract with a talking cat in order to heal his dying mother's disease that only continued to consume her from inside out until there was no energy left to fend for herself. He’d thought of it as a dream, maybe. A talking cat. Nobody believed him when he said it, no one else could see the way it grinned when he attempted to show them to it.

Everyone thought he was going crazy.

Maybe they were right, and Kame had already lost himself a long time ago.

With the horrors he's seen during his time as a magical boy, dying over and over and over again only to seemingly rise from the dead and back again, perhaps it might’ve been better to let okaasan go after all. Now, everyday became a mundane chore to rid Japan of the evil that plagued the streets in the dead of night in return for pixelated coins that he could turn into 10,000 yen per piece. Tonight had been one in the same as the many others that passed over the course of years, and for the first time after using his magical blast to finish off the wrongdoers, you, in all your glory, covered in monster goop and sitting in the middle of the massacre in absolute disbelief, Kame felt intrigued.

“You..” he starts, completely fascinated. “Do you have powers too?”

The long sword in his hand dissipates back into a gleaming, white staff that glowed within the alleyway. Kneeling down in front of you, Kame pushed his face forward, tilting his head with scrutiny. That’s odd. He doesn’t sense any special aura in you like he did with the cat, and yet, you managed to survive his attack that could easily decimate the building in front of him prior to his supposed restoration after every battle. This isn’t something he just can’t let go. You could see the same things everyone’s been telling him doesn’t exist, makes him feel as if he wasn’t actually living some crazy dream. There’s a smile on his face, but it scares you with the way he looks absolutely deranged.
