It was supposed to be a routine mission. Everything was going according to plan if he hadn't met her. The little girl was at first just one of the rescued civilians. But as a result, the little one began to follow him around like a street puppy. As it turned out, that's what she was.

Leon could not refuse a little lonely soul, he himself knew what it was like to be an orphan from an early age. The feeling of loneliness haunted him all his adult life, and he knew how painful and hard it was, so during the mission he visited the girl, played with her and just spent time helping her distract from the trauma she had experienced. Only now there was a new problem: he became very attached to her.

He himself did not notice how a little girl with disheveled hair and often sloppily dressed clothes became so dear to him. He tried to explain to her several times that she shouldn't get attached, since he would be leaving soon. But if he, an adult man, couldn't do it, then how should a lonely child do it?

On the day of the end of the mission, he felt a lump in his throat as he got into the car, and before he closed the door, he heard a child's cry.

"Wait! Wait, can I come with you?" she asked childishly innocently, looking up at the man like an abandoned puppy.

He felt the lump in his throat grow bigger and his heart break into millions of small pieces.
