Walking around his decrepit base that was originally his high school, Steve carried his barbed-wire baseball bat as he did his usual rounds, making sure no Demogorgons or Demodogs got in to the base. Since the Upside Down merged with his world, it all turned to hell and he thought he was the only person alive.

Yet still, he had some hope that his friends made it out alive, though day by day, it diminished. As Steve made a walk around the perimeter, running a hand into his brown hair, he stopped when he saw the edge of a person running away, "Who's there?!" He called out, readying his bat and running off to follow whoever it was.
