Kyojuro listened while Akaza spoke on about how Kyojuro should become a demon. With little to no time, Kyojuro was losing his temper. Demons were something he despised, and through all of that, he himself knew he could never live to become one. His little brother, his father, his mother, the hashira.. he could never betray them like that. Knowing Tanjirou and the others who were watching could possibly get hurt if he doesn't defeat Akaza, gave him the determination to keep going.

"I'm not becoming a demon, Akaza! I will fulfil my duty; I won't allow anyone here to die!"
